Compliance Standards Documentation

Overview

Most healthnetBC services provide access to databases maintained by the Ministry of Health. The healthnetBC compliance documentation available here defines who can access the data, how the data can be used, and how to develop compliant business services.

Purpose

Software developers creating and/or testing applications that involve accessing and exchanging health information over the internet should download the appropriate compliance documentation. You can also download test cases to ensure your application adheres to the required standards. If your software products do not conform to these standards and tests, you will not be able to access any healthnetBC services.

Register for healthnetBC Compliance Update Notification

Compliance standards are subject to continuous revision and upgrading. We advise you to bookmark this page, and return often to ensure that your documentation remains current. It is advisable to confirm the status of the compliance standards with the Software Support Organization Coordinator before undertaking any development work.

You can receive notification of updates to the Compliance Standards once you have a healthnetBC User ID and password. You can then register to request update notification for a specific topic.
