These tools have been developed by the Health Chief Information Officers Council. The council consists of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Ministry of Health Services and the CIOs of BC's six health authorities. The council is responsible for implementing the plans and strategies below.

  This is a strategic plan for health information management in BC, a provincial compass to guide the activities of the six health authorities and the Ministry of Health Services.

  This is a framework for an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for British Columbians. It also represents BC's contribution to the pan-Canadian effort to develop an EHR.
• Tactical Plan for Health Information Management in British Columbia - January 2005

  This is the second in an on-going series of annual tactical plans for health information management in British Columbia. The plan outlines new e-Health initiatives as well as builds on several that were initiated in the first tactical plan (issued May 2003). The plan focuses on initiatives the health authorities and the Ministry have selected as priority opportunities for province wide collaboration in the advancement of electronic health record capability.
